Community Guidelines
ChatDys is a safe space for people living with dysautonomia, POTS, Long COVID, MCAS, EDS, ME/CFS, and related conditions. These guidelines exist to keep our community supportive, accurate, and welcoming for everyone.
Be Kind & Supportive
Everyone here is navigating a difficult health journey. Treat every member with compassion, patience, and respect — even when you disagree. Constructive feedback is welcome; personal attacks are not.
Share Experiences, Not Medical Advice
You may share what has worked for you personally, but always frame it as your own experience ("I found that…", "My doctor suggested…"). Do not tell others what medications to take, what dosages to use, or diagnose their symptoms. ChatDys is a peer support space, not a substitute for professional medical care.
Protect Privacy
Never share another person's personal information without their explicit consent. This includes names, photos, addresses, medical records, or any identifying details. Protect your own privacy too — you are not required to disclose anything you are not comfortable sharing.
No Spam or Promotion
Do not post unsolicited advertisements, affiliate links, MLM promotions, or repetitive content. Sharing a product or service you genuinely found helpful is fine — but only once, clearly disclosed, and in the appropriate category. Accounts that exist solely to promote products will be removed.
No Harmful or False Information
Do not post content that is demonstrably false and could mislead vulnerable patients (e.g., "X cures POTS", "vaccines cause dysautonomia"). Misinformation in a health community can cause real harm. When citing research, link to the source. If you are unsure, say so.
Crisis & Mental Health
If you or someone you know is in crisis, please reach out to a professional immediately. In the US, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline). Posts that glorify, encourage, or provide methods for self-harm will be removed immediately. Expressing emotional distress is always welcome — you are not alone.
No Hate Speech or Discrimination
Content that demeans, threatens, or discriminates against any person or group based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, nationality, age, or any other characteristic is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate account suspension.
Report, Don't Retaliate
If you see content that violates these guidelines, use the Report button. Do not engage with or retaliate against the poster — that can escalate the situation and may result in action against your account. Our moderation team reviews all reports promptly.
Enforcement
All posts and images are automatically reviewed by our AI moderation system before they appear publicly. Content that clearly violates these guidelines is removed immediately. Borderline content is held for human review by our moderation team.
Violations may result in post removal, temporary posting restrictions, or permanent account suspension depending on severity and history. We always aim to be fair and consistent.
