AI Disclosure

1. What Is the ChatDys AI?
ChatDys is an AI-powered medical information platform designed specifically for people living with dysautonomia, Long COVID, Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS), Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), gastroparesis, and related conditions.
The ChatDys AI assistant combines multiple information sources to generate responses: a curated knowledge base of over 6,300 peer-reviewed research documents, real-time PubMed literature search, preprint databases (medRxiv, arXiv), open-access scholarly databases (OpenAlex, PLOS), live web search, and community-contributed content. Responses are generated using large language models (LLMs) and are assembled automatically without real-time review by a licensed medical professional.
The platform is operated by ChatDys LLC. We are not a healthcare provider, medical practice, hospital, or licensed clinical service.
2. AI Outputs Are Not Medical Advice
All content generated by the ChatDys AI — including Quick Answers, Deep Dive responses, Research summaries, and Live Search results — is provided for informational and educational purposes only. It does not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, prognosis, or treatment recommendations.
The conditions covered by ChatDys — including POTS, MCAS, EDS, Long COVID, and ME/CFS — are complex, heterogeneous, and frequently misunderstood even within the medical community. AI responses may reflect general patterns in the literature that do not apply to your individual case. Individual responses to treatments vary significantly. What works for one patient may be harmful to another.
3. Important Limitations
The ChatDys AI system cannot and should not be used as:
- A replacement for medical care: Always consult qualified healthcare providers for symptoms, diagnoses, treatment decisions, and medication changes.
- An emergency service: ChatDys is not equipped to handle medical emergencies. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 (US), 999 (UK), 112 (EU), or your local emergency number immediately.
- A diagnostic tool: Only licensed healthcare providers can diagnose medical conditions. The AI may describe symptoms, patterns, and research findings, but it cannot diagnose you.
- A prescription service: The AI cannot prescribe, recommend specific doses of, or advise you to start, stop, or change any medication or supplement without consulting your doctor.
- A mental health service: ChatDys does not provide therapy, counseling, or mental health treatment. If you are in crisis, please contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988 in the US).
- A substitute for specialist care: Dysautonomia, MCAS, EDS, and related conditions often require evaluation by cardiologists, neurologists, immunologists, geneticists, and other specialists. AI information does not replace this expertise.
4. Multi-Source AI Responses
ChatDys generates responses by drawing from multiple data sources simultaneously. Understanding where information comes from helps you evaluate its reliability:
| Source | What It Contains | Reliability Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Knowledge Base (RAG) | 6,300+ curated peer-reviewed papers, GWAS studies, patient organization content | Highest reliability; manually curated and indexed |
| PubMed / MEDLINE | Peer-reviewed biomedical literature from the US National Library of Medicine | High reliability; peer-reviewed but may include retracted papers |
| medRxiv / arXiv | Preprint research not yet peer-reviewed | Preliminary findings; not yet validated by peer review |
| OpenAlex / PLOS | Open-access scholarly articles | Generally peer-reviewed; quality varies by journal |
| Live Web Search | Real-time web content including news, patient forums, and general websites | Variable quality; may include non-medical or anecdotal sources |
| Community Content | Posts and discussions from ChatDys community members | Patient experience only; not medical evidence |
The AI synthesizes these sources automatically. It may not always correctly weight the reliability of each source or distinguish between established consensus and emerging or contested findings.
5. AI Behavior & Accuracy
Please be aware that the ChatDys AI system:
- May appear confident but be incorrect. Large language models can generate plausible-sounding responses that contain factual errors, outdated information, or misattributed citations. This is sometimes called "hallucination."
- May produce different answers to the same question. AI responses are probabilistic and may vary between sessions.
- May not reflect the latest research. The knowledge base has a training cutoff and is updated periodically. Very recent studies may not be included.
- May reflect biases in training data. Medical literature has historically underrepresented women, people of color, and patients with complex multi-system conditions — the very populations most affected by dysautonomia and related conditions. AI outputs may inadvertently reflect these gaps.
- Cannot interpret your personal lab results or imaging. The AI has no access to your medical records, test results, or imaging unless you explicitly paste them into the chat. Even then, it cannot provide clinical interpretation.
- May occasionally produce inappropriate or unexpected responses. If you encounter content that seems harmful, incorrect, or inappropriate, please report it using the feedback button.
6. Genetics & Genomic Data
ChatDys Premium includes a genetics feature that allows you to upload raw DNA data files (e.g., from 23andMe, AncestryDNA) and query rsID variants relevant to dysautonomia, MCAS, EDS, and related conditions.
Important limitations of the genetics feature:
- Genetic variant analysis on ChatDys is based on published GWAS (genome-wide association study) research and is provided for educational exploration only.
- The presence or absence of a genetic variant does not confirm or rule out any diagnosis. Most variants associated with these conditions have modest effect sizes and are not deterministic.
- ChatDys is not a clinical genetic testing service. We are not a CLIA-certified laboratory. Our genetics feature does not constitute genetic counseling or clinical genetic testing.
- If you have concerns about your genetic risk for any condition, please consult a board-certified genetic counselor or clinical geneticist.
- Raw DNA files are processed and stored with strong encryption. See our Privacy Policy for full details on how genetic data is handled, retained, and deleted.
7. Community Content
The ChatDys community forum and community map contain content submitted by users, including patient experiences, treatment anecdotes, and personal health stories. This content:
- Represents individual patient experiences and opinions, not medical evidence.
- Has not been reviewed or validated by medical professionals.
- Should not be used to make treatment decisions. What helped one patient may be harmful to another, especially given the heterogeneity of conditions like MCAS and EDS.
- Is moderated by AI and human moderators for community guidelines compliance, but moderation does not constitute medical review.
When the AI incorporates community content into responses, it will label it as such. Community content carries a lower evidence weight than peer-reviewed literature in AI responses.
8. Beta Platform Status
ChatDys is currently in beta. This means the platform is under active development and may contain:
- Bugs, errors, or technical limitations that affect the accuracy or completeness of responses.
- Features that may change, be modified, or be removed without prior notice.
- Unexpected behaviors or system interruptions.
- AI response quality that may vary as we continue to improve our models, knowledge base, and search algorithms.
We are committed to improving the platform continuously. User feedback is essential — please use the feedback button to report inaccurate responses, missing information, or technical issues.
9. Your Responsibilities
By using ChatDys, you acknowledge and agree to:
- Always verify AI-generated information with qualified healthcare professionals before making any health decision.
